Whilst on site our visitors have access to all the communal facilities we have built over the years. Each year we add a new feature, so be sure to check our blog for news and updates about the site.
The Boma
Our open firepit or “Boma” is a guest favourite in the day and into the night. There are landscaped gardens with ornamental grasses and decorative features to enjoy in the day. Then in the evening guests are welcome to light the fire (weather dependent*) for cooking, or simply relaxing next to.
We also host regular Boma nights for our guests throughout the summer, where we light the fire-pit* and cook or provide a variety of food. Guests are encouraged to bring their own food and wine. It’s a great way to connect with other like-minded campers and guests.
The Oasis
The Oasis is a quiet area of the campsite designed for relaxing and cooling off in the summer heat. It features a king-sized hammock day bed, multiple running water features for relaxation sounds, and a walk-through mister to truly cool-off if you need it.
Information Centre
If you’re looking for some inspiration for things to do in the local area, then visit our information centre inside a renovated caravan! It’s stocked with lots of information and leaflets on activities and things to do in the local area, from walking and cycling routes, to open gardens, châteaus and zoos.
It has WiFi, and has some seating if you’re looking for a quiet, cool reading and relaxation area.
The centre also has a small shop with handmade gifts and camping accessories, including games, bunting, bags and other artisanal crafts.
The Potager
No traditional French Longere would be complete without it’s Potager, or vegetable garden. Ours is fully organic and features a central peach tree. Each year we plant many fruits and vegetables, including some exotic varieties. Guest favourites are usually the yellow raspberries, huge courgettes, aubergines, and fresh herbs of course.
We allow guests to pick from the potager during their stay, you are welcome to leave a monetary donation for what you take and please consider other guests when picking during peak times. 😊
Campers Kitchen
Our kitchen is open to all, there is more information about the facilities in the kitchen on the campsite page. But in here you will find everything you usually expect in a kitchen, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
We also stock the kitchen with fresh eggs (laid on site!), any fresh fruit or vegetables which are available from the potager, homemade jams and chutneys, locally sourced honey.
Bathrooms
There are 2 full bathrooms with toilet, shower and sink, and a 3rd additional toilet and sink for use onsite.
